Restoration of the severely atrophic maxilla was once thought impossible, especially for periodontists. Innovative techniques which allow dental implants to engage dense, remote, and inherently stable bone offer rehabilitative solutions for patients suffering from this condition. In this four-hour course, participants will learn the rationale for using remote anchorage implants, pertinent anatomy, surgical techniques, and possible complications of zygomatic, pterygoid, and transnasal dental implants. Following the didactic portion of the course, participants will receive a remote anchorage implant technique demonstration.
• Learn rationale for zygomatic, pterygoid, and transnasal dental implants.
• Review anatomy pertinent for the placement of zygomatic, pterygoid, and transnasal dental implants.
• Discover surgical techniques for zygomatic, pterygoid, and transnasal dental implants.
• Recognize possible complications associated with zygomatic, pterygoid, and transnasal dental implants.
